New Twitter ‘Search Subscribe’ feature coming soon?
Twitter may soon offer a new option to receive push alerts anytime someone’s tweets match a search phrase you define.
“Search Subscribe” is a Twitter function.
Twitter has not confirmed if or when the feature will roll out to users. It was first spotted by Dylan Rousse, an Android developer, in the latest pre-release version of Twitter’s mobile app.
Twitter is working on a feature allowing you to subscribe to search results. Once subscribed, you'll receive push notifications for Tweets about your search query! 🤯 pic.twitter.com/plTlt484oN

This is how it works. When you perform a search in the Twitter app, a bell icon will appear next to the search field.
When you press the bell, you’ll get a notice that says, “You’re subscribed to receive push notifications for Tweets about [enter your search term here].”
TweetDeck-like application. You may add a column to TweetDeck, which is also owned by Twitter.
A column type is “Search.” So, if you type in “SEO,” you’ll get every tweet that matches “SEO” in that column.
You may also narrow down the results by geography, author, and interaction level.
Notifications through push. Twitter allows you to enable or disable various alerts.
This covers things like mentions, responses, retweets, new followers, direct messages, and other things.
Search has never been one of these possibilities until now.
Blue for Twitter? We recently reported that Twitter would be getting an edit button.
If and when that happens, it will be part of the premium Twitter Blue service. According to early rumors, Search Subscribe will be included in Twitter Blue.
Why do we care?
If Search Subscribe operates in the same way as TweetDeck, it might be useful for tracking any keywords of interest to you. However, it has the potential to become really loud, so select your search phrases judiciously.
